Carl Edward Roberts, 84, passed away on August 29, 2006. Carl was born on June 6, 1922 in South Bend, Indiana. During World War II, Carl served in the US Navy, Naval Air, as an Aviation Radioman 1 and received the Distinguished Flying Cross, three Air Medals in the Solomon's, Marshall Islands and South Pacific Theatre. He was a member of the Masonic Fraternity for 50 years. Carl was a loving husband, father and grandfather.

He is survived by his wife Lorey of 40 years, daughters Patricia, Mimi (Jim), Lee and Peggy, stepdaughters Bonnie (Neil) and Ann, stepsons Bill (Sandy), Bob (Olga), Jim (Jeanine), Dave and son-in-law Dale (Bev), grandchildren Carl, Steve, Amy, Matthew, Lindsay, Kristin, Stephanie, Edward, Michael, Steven, Nicole and nine great-grandchildren and many loving family members and friends.

Carl is preceded in death by his sister Betty and his brother Bill.

Carl spent over 35 successful years in the insurance business. After retiring from Provident Life and Accident Insurance Company in Phoenix he fulfilled one of his dreams of traveling around the world. He was an avid sailor and enjoyed the time he could spend on the Pacific Ocean with family and friends. He took great pride in organizing reunions with his US Navy crewmen over the last 25 years.

Following a cremation, private services for the family will be held at the National Memorial Cemetery in Phoenix, AZ. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Hospice of the Valley.
