MONDECAR, Marjorie Marjorie Louise Inwood Mondecar, age 87, of Atlanta, passed away on October 18, 2009. She was born in South Bend, IN, to parents Paul and Jessie Inwood on June 29, 1922. She graduated from Depauw University in Indiana and attended Northwestern University in Illinois. She moved to New York where she studied at Art Students League and got married. She moved to Atlanta and worked at Macy's downtown while taking classes towards her teaching accreditation and raising 3 children as a single parent. She was a one-time member of Peachtree Road United Methodist Church, where she sang in the choir. She retired from the Atlanta Public School system in 1985 after teaching art for over 20 years, most recently at Smith High School. She enjoyed calligraphy and was a member of Friends of the Alphabet. She was preceded in death by her brothers James, Kenneth, and David Inwood, all of South Bend, IN. She is survived by her children Mercedes and Flora Mondecar of Atlanta and David Mondecar of Marietta and grandchildren John and Jake of Marietta. A memorial service will be held at Covenant Presbyterian Church, 2461 Peachtree Road NE, Atlanta 30305, on Sunday October 25 at 4 PM. A reception will be held at the church afterwards. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Atlanta Union Mission. Arrangements by Cremation Society of the SOUTH in Marietta 770-420-5557.
