William Y. Butterworth
William Y. Butterworth, 65, of 222 S. Taylor St., died at 4 a.m. today at Veterans Hospital, Indianapolis, after an illness. Mr. Butterworth retired in 1977 from Chase Manhattan Bank. He was born Aug. 8, 1922, in Anderson, S.C., and lived in South Bend for 10 years.
He is survived by a daughter, Pamela B. Hollis of San Bernardino, Calif.; two sons, William A. of Indianapolis and John R. of Chicago; four grandchildren; a sister, Camilla George of South Bend; three brothers, Charles M. of Canyon Lake, Texas, V. Eugene of South Bend and John W. of Speedway, Ind.; and his mother, Lillian Butterworth of South Bend.
He was a veteran of World War II and a graduate of the University of Mexico, Mexico City.
