John W. Hazen

John W. Hazen, 71, of Arbor Point Drive, South Bend, Ind., died on Wednesday, Oct. 21, in Mayo-Methodist Hospital, Rochester, Minn.

John graduated from South Bend Central High School. He served in the U.S. Army Air Corps. He attended Indiana State University. He lived in Minnesota from 1955 to 1995, when he returned to South Bend.

He was preceded in death by his mother, Vera; his father, Charles; and by a sister, Verabell.

Mr. Hazen is survived by his wife, Betty Jane (Zimmer); a daughter, Susan Hazen of South Bend; a son, John and his wife Kristi of Dublin, Ohio; two grandchildren, Crystal and Stephanie Hazen of Dublin; a sister, Betty Johnson of South Bend; and by a brother, Charles of South Bend.

Private family services have been held. A Celebration of Life will be observed, for family and friends to share and reflect, from 11 a.m. on Saturday, Nov. 7, in the Westminster Presbyterian Church.
