Edith A. (Brinker) Shaftick

Edith A. Shaftick. 58. of 1330 E. Ewing Ave., died at 10;10 p.m. Saturday in Memorial Hospital after a sudden illness. She was born May 25. 1915. in Cairo, Mich., and had lived in South Bend most of her life.

On May 10, 1934, in South Bend, she was married to Leo H. Shaftick, who survives. Also surviving are her stepfather, Carl Frisk of Mishawaka. two daughters, Mrs. Thomas Latimer and Mrs. Rolland Jerue, both of South Bend; four grandchildren: a brother, Harry Brinker of Flint, Mich., and four sisters, Mrs. Michael Cheh Jr. of South Bend, Mrs. Dean Moffett of Miami, Fla., Mrs. Max Gardner of St. Petersburg, Fla., and Mrs. Robert Nicodemus of Houston, Tex. .

Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. • 521 N. William St., where services will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, with Rev. Edmund Peters. pastor of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
