Helen H. Rockstroh Aug 21, 1906 - Jan. 27, 1999 Helen Hilda Rockstroh, 92, passed away on Wednesday, Jan. 27, at the Healthwin Nursing Home. She had formerly lived at 1679 Riverside Drive, South Bend, Ind. Helen was born on Aug. 21, 1906, in Huntington, Ind., to Wilbert G. Winebren-ner and Winifred M. (Hildebrand) Winebrenner. After a brief time in Logansport, Ind., the family set-tled permanently in South Bend. Helen graduated from South Bend High School (South Bend Central) in 1924. After one year of college at DePauw, she returned to South Bend to work.

On May 24, 1930, in South Bend, she married John C. Rockstroh at the First Christian Church. John died on May 31, 1967. She was also preceded in death by a brother, Jack on May 31, 1980.

Helen is survived by their only child, J. Richard "Dick" (Loanna J.) Rockstroh of South Bend; four grandchildren, Cynthia L. Johnson of Morganfield, Ky., John F Rockstroh of South Bend, Diane G. Kilbase of South Bend and J. Robert Rockstroh of Cincinnati, Ohio. She will also be missed by 10 great-grandchildren, Kelli, J Jay, Amanda, Susan, Sam, Caroline, Sarah, Emily, Abigail and Erin; as well as by five step-grandchildren and nine more step-areat-arandchildren. She is also survived by a brother, Howard G. Winebrenner of Western Springs,

In 1932 her husband John started the Rockstroh Insurance Agency in South Bend, which is still run by her son Dick and grandson John. To help supplement the family business, Helen worked for many years as a secre-tary for the South Bend Public Schools. She was the original secretary when Riley High School opened in 1926, and later worked 19 years as a secretary for Colfax School. Helen had been a member of the First Christian Church of South Bend for over 77 years and served in many offices. She was a member of Thalia, social sorority. She enjoyed traveling, had been to six continents of the world, and rode an elephant in Thailand.
