Earl E. Troeger Sr.

Earl E. Troeger Sr., 76, of 125 N. Ironwood, died of an apparent heart attack at 5:15 p.m. Sunday, Feb 1, 1981, while visiting friends. He was chairman of the board of Andrew Troeger and Co. Born on Sept. 20. 1904, in South Bend, he had lived here all his life.

On Oct. 9. 1729, in South Bend, he married Esther E. Steiner, who survives. Also surviving are three sons, Earl E. Jr., Jack S. and Dr. Thomas A., all of South Bend: 10 grandchildren; and four sisters, Mrs. Otto Damerau, Miss Margaret Troeger, Mrs. Carl Tipple and Mrs. Charles Jackson, all of South Bend.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday in the Zion United Church of Christ, of which he was a member. Rev. Donald I. Kaufman, pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. today in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William.

He was a member of Portage Lodge 675, F&AM. the Scottish Rite, Valley of South Bend, Mizpah Shrine Temple of Hammond, the South Bend Shrine Club, the South Bend Elks, the South Bend Turners, the South Bend Rotary, and past president and member of the Sheet Metal and Air Conditioning Contractors National Association. Memorial contributions may be made to the church or the St. Joseph County Cancer Society.
