Lucas H. Brandon
Lucas H. Brandon, 67, of 409 Wakewa Ave., died at 10:30 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital after a three-week ill-ness. He was an auditor for the Bendix Corp. 33 years and re-tired in 1969. He was a descendent of the pioneer family which owned the former Brandon-Durrell Dept. Store. He was born on June 30, 1904 in South Bend and had lived here all of his life.
On June 22, 1946, in South Bend, he married Dorothy G. Austin, who survives, along with a stepson, Carl C. Austin of South Bend; three grandchildren; a brother, Thomas A. of South Bend, and two nephews and a niece.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home. Mr. Brandon was a member of the Cathedral of St. James Episcopal Church, a graduate of Howe Military Academy and a 1931 graduate of the University of Notre Dame. He was a veteran of World War II and a member of Post 50, American Legion.
