Michael B. “Mike” Voynovich

In loving memory, the family of Michael B. Voynovich , 79, of East Oakside Street, South Bend, Ind., announces his death at 10:15 a.m. on Tuesday, March 2, at the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center.

Michael was born in South Bend on Oct. 5, 1919, to John and Bojana (Drca) Voynovich . He was preceded in death by his parents; a brother, Fredrick; and by a sister, Helen.

He was a retired electrical supervisor for the Bendix Corporation. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II.

He married Estelle Korlowicz on Jan. 20, 1945, in Philadelphia, Pa. She survives. He is also survived by a daughter, Judith E. (James) Welling of Mishawaka, Ind.; and a son, Fredrick (Deb) Voynovich of South Bend; four grandchildren, Judith V., Jamey, Joshua and Jarrod; and by a sister, Sadie Summe of South Bend.

Funeral services for Michael B. Voynovich will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 4, at the St. Peter and St. Paul Serbian Orthodox Church, South Bend. Rev. Dragisa Jocic will be officiating. Burial will take place in Southlawn Cemetery, South Bend. There will be no visitation.
