Helen M. (Ruppert) Veith
July 27, 1920 - June 25, 1998
Helen M. Veith, 77, of South Bend, Ind., passed away after an illness on Thursday, June 25, in Memorial Hospital. She was born on July 27, 1920, in South Bend, to Fred and Hattie (Hermann) Ruppert.
On Sept. 2, 1944, in Corpus Christi, Texas, she married Robert Veith, who survives. She is also survived by their daughter, Judie and Dave Apt of Rochester, Ind.; sons, Thomas R. and Pat Overdorf of Cicero, Ind., and Robert H. Veith, Il of Indianapolis, Ind.; three grandchildren, Jamie Veith of South Bend, Jim Apt of Nappanee, Ind., and Brian Apt of Rochester; a greatgrandchild, Kyle James Apt of Nappanee; and by two sisters, Elinore Milliken of New Carlisle, Ind. and Elaine Toppel of South Bend.
Helen was a veteran of the Navy serving during World War II. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 2 to 5 p.m. on Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 North William Street. Services will be conducted at 10 a.m. on Monday in the Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church with the Rev.
Claude Joiner officiating. Burial will be in the Chapel Hill Memorial Gardens, Osceola, Ind., following services. Helen was a longtime member of the church and contributions may be directed to the church in her memory
