SOUTH BEND - Frederick P. Jasok, 90, passed away at 8:00 a.m. on Friday, February 11, 2011, in Healthwin Specialized Care. Frederick was born on December 20, 1920, in South Bend, to the late Paul and Mary (Starsiak) Jasok. He was also preceded in death by three sisters, Mildred Bogoanowicz, Nellie Jasok and Stephanie Kovach; and by his brother, Louis Jasok.

Frederick is survived by his nephew, Michael Kovach; several nieces and nephews; and by his two sisters, Genevieve Bucher of South Bend and Alice Mrozinski of South Bend.

He graduated from Central High School, South Bend, in 1938.

He honorably served in the United States Army during World War II in the European Theater. He participated in campaigns at Rome/ War Arno, Southern France, Rhineland, and Central Europe. He received the EAME Theatre Ribbon with four Bronze Stars and Good Conduct Medal. Frederick retired from Bendix/Allied Signal after 43 years of service. Frederick was a member of Local No. 9 UAW CIO Retirees, and was a parishioner of St. Hedwig Parish where he was a member of the Usher Club.

Visitation will be from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. on Monday, February 14, 2011, in ST JOSEPH FUNERAL HOME, 824 S. Mayflower Road, where a Rosary will be prayed at 6 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 15, 2011, in St. Hedwig Catholic Church. Burial will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to Harbor Light Hospice, 4330 Miami St., South Bend, IN 46614. Condolences for the family may be made at www.sjfh.net.
