Olive A. (Irish) Rossow
April 8, 1920 - March 5, 2002
Olive A. Rossow, 81, of Solomon Avenue, South Bend, Ind., died following an illness at 8:45 a.m. Tuesday, March 5, in her residence. She was born in South Bend on April 8, 1920, and was a lifelong area resident.
Olive was preceded in death by her parents, Charles Freeman and Laura Amelia (Johnson) Irish; and by three brothers,' Wayne, Charles and Lawrence Irish.
Olive worked at the Philadelphia Candy Company as a teenager and then at Torrington until she started raising a family. She graduated from Central High School in 1938. She was a member of Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Olive bowled in the Homemaker League at Jefferson Manor (Keller Concrete), she loved to do cross- word puzzles, ceramics, and to play Yahtzee with the XYL Club. She was a loyal Cub fan.
She married Vernon A. Rossow in South Bend on April 6, 1962. He survives. She is also survived by two daughters, Karen (Michael) Clary of Colorado and Tammy (Al Byler) Rossow of South Bend; a son, Kevin A. (Sandy) Rossow of Niles, Mich.: two stepdaughters, Jackie (James) Gramlich and Donna (Thomas Warren) Cooper, both of Ohio; and by 14 grandchildren and nine greatgrandchildren.
Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today, March 7, in the Bubb Funeral Chapel North, 3910 N. Main Street, Mishawaka, Ind. Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in Good Shepherd Lutheran Church. Burial will follow at Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or to Good Shepherd Lutheran Church
