Janet J. (Fredrickson) Helmer

Janet J. "Jan" Helmer, 78, died Sunday, Dec. 7, 1997, at Proctor Hospital.

Born June 12, 1919, in Buchanan, Mich., to Oscar and Vera Haase Fredrickson, she married Robert E. Edlund on Oct. 17, 1947, in South Bend, Ind. He died March 31, 1970, in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by one brother and three sisters.

She married James B. Helmer on May 28, 1978, in Peoria. He survives. Also surviving are one daughter, Mrs. James (Kathy) Stepzinski; and two sons, Dennis Kaman and William Kaman.

She had worked in the cosmetic department of the downtown Bergner's store and at Lloyds Jewelry Store.

Burial will be in Swan Lake Memory Gardens.
