SOUTH BEND - Mary C. Hodges. 73, of College Street, died at 6:33 p.m.

Sunday in St. Joseph's Medical Center, after an illness. Mrs. Hodges was born Oct. 23, 1920, in South Bend and was a lifelong local resident.

On Oct. 23, 1943, in South Bend, as Mary C. Hazinski, she married Matthew C. Hodges. He survives with two daughters, Marilyn Shank and Margaret "Peggy" Krzyzewski, both of South Bend; and five grandchildren.

A son, Mark, died in 1950.

She was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church and the Altar and Rosary Society of the church.

Services will be at 9:30 a.m. Wednesday in the church. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Kaniewski Funeral Home, where a parish rosary will be at 7 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the American Heart Association.
