Donald Herbert Eldredge, MD

Eldredge, Donald Herbert M.D. passed away peacefully on June 7, 2008 due to complications of Parkinson's Disease.

Born on July 5, 1921 in South Bend, Indiana, he is survived by his wife of 60 years, Charlotte Marsh Eldredge; his children Lucy Eldredge Bailey of St. Louis, MO, Robert Marsh Eldredge of Vineyard Haven, MA, Elizabeth Ames Eldredge of Okemos, MI and Barbara Delafield Eldredge of Durham, NC; his grandchildren, Rebecca Delafield Bailey of Anchorage, AK, Capt. Thaddeus McCurdy Bailey of Colorado Springs, CO, Michael Eldredge Plank of Chicago, IL and James Eldredge Plank of Chicago, IL; and his brothers Joseph Lippincott Eldredge of West Tisbury, MA and Charles Lippincott Eldredge of Surfside, FL.

Donald received his B.S. (1943) and M.D. (1946) from Harvard University. He served as a medical officer in the United States Army and the United States Air Force from 1943 to 1951 and was honorably discharged as a Major in the Air Force.

He retired in 1986 after 33 years conducting laboratory research in physiology of the ear at the Central Institute for the Deaf.
