Jane B. (Brugger) Kuzmitz

Jane B. Kuzmitz, 78, of Madison Street, South Bend, Ind., passed away on Monday, Feb 28 She was born on Nov. 14. 1921, to WIlliam Brugger and Mary Grace Sullivan in South Bend. She graduated from Central High School and attended Rosary College, Chicago, Ill.

On May 11, 1946, she married Andrew A Kuzmitz in St. Patricks Church. Andy passed away on May 28, 1985. She was also preceded in death by two sisters, Betty Hillerman and Grace Farrell.

Jane was a member of Christ Child, serving as president in 1980, a member of Service Guild, serving as president in 1962. a member of Coquillard Woods Garden Club, St. Joseph Hospital Women's Auxiliary, Zonta Women's Business Association. St. Joseph County Board of Realtors, Campaign Chairman Women's Division of the United Way in 1968 and a member of St. Joseph Church, South Bend.

Jane is survived by a daughter, Mary Jane (Bill) Stanley of South Bend; two sons, Andrew A (Kathleen) Kuzmitz of Ashland. Ore., and Joseph T. (Nancy) Kuzmitz of South Bend, eight grandchildren, Michael J. Stanley of Chicago. III., Brian M. Stanley, Kevin J. Stanley of South Bend. Emma Kuzmitz, Ivan Kuzmitz. Adria Kuzmitz of Ashland. Jamie Kuzmitz and Kelly Kuzmitz of South Bend.

She loved working for Cressy and Everett. selling residential real estate, serving her community in many volunteer capacities and spending time with her family and friends.

Visitation will be held from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. today in the Hickey Funeral Home, 3516 E. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, where a Rosary will be said at 3:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10 a.m. on Thursday, March 2, in the St. Joseph Church on Hill Street, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the Christ Child Society, P.O. Box 1286, South Bend, IN 46624.
