Miss Opal L. Keppler, 71, of 918 Ft Fox, died at 8 p.m. Wednesday in Memorial Hospital after a short illness. Miss Keppler was a former Studebaker Corp. employee. Born on Sept 29, 1900, in Rosedale. Kan., she had lived here since 1919, coming from Kansas City, Kan.

Surviving are three sisters, Miss Josie J. Keppler and Mrs. Nora J. Rupert, both of South Bend, and Mrs. Lois Schmitt of Granger: and five brothers, Arthur T. of Mansfield, Ohio, Roy L of Granger, and Harry M., Robert W. and Daniel C., all of South Bend.

Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in the First Baptist Church. Rev. J. Frederick Holpert, interim pastor, will officiate. Burial will be in Southlawm Cemetery. Friends may call from 7 to 9 p.m. Friday and 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William. She was a deacon and a member of the church, the board of missions and the women's society, both of the church, and the Mary Ann Club. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church.
