DOROTHY I. (SCHREYER) PALM

April 17, 1919 - July 6, 2012
NEW CARLISLE - Dorothy I. Palm, 93, of Hamilton Communities, passed away Friday, July 6, 2012. Dorothy was born April 17, 1919, to John H. and Isabella (Weber) Schreyer in South Bend, Indiana, and had been a resident of New Carlisle since 1950, coming from South Bend. Dorothy was employed with the former St. Joseph Bank & Trust Company from 1937-1944, and with the former Haven Hubbard Home in New Carlisle from 1969-1975.

On October 12, 1940, Dorothy married William A. Palm, who preceded her in death on May 21, 2008. Surviving are her sons, William A. (Judith) Palm Jr. of Utica, Michigan, and Robert D. (Carolyn) Palm of New Carlisle, Indiana; grandchildren, Jodi (Michael) Merrifield, Jennifer J. (Todd) Koehn, Brian D. Palm, Brett R. Palm, Alysia M. Palm and Carey Loewenthal; great-grandchildren, Andrew & Matthew Merrifield, McKenzie & Delaney Jo Koehn, Ethan Palm and Ozni Yeboah; and a sister, Harriet Barkley of Beverly Hills, Florida.

Dorothy was a 1937 graduate of South Bend Central High School, a member of the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, a 50-year member of the Order of Eastern Star in New Carlisle, and a 50-year member of the New Carlisle Purdue Extension Homemakers Service Club.

Funeral service will be held at 1 p.m. today, July 10, 2012, in the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, where visitation will be from 11 a.m. until the time of services. Burial will follow at Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Memorial contributions may be made to the New Carlisle United Methodist Church, 300 Compton Street, New Carlisle, Indiana 46552.
