Arthur L Schlorch Feb. 26. 1920 - May 15. 2002 Arthur L. Schlorch. 82, of West North Shore Drive, South Bend, passed away on Wednesday, May 15, 2002, in Our Lady of Peace Hospital, South Bend. Mr. Schlorch was born on February 26. 1920, in Sublette, Illinois, to the late Albert and May (Boll) Schlorch. He was a lifelong resident of the South Bend area.

On June 30, 1945, in South Bend. he married Emma Fenoglio, who survives. He is also survived by two daughters, Catherine M. (Richard) Hassi of Albuquerque. New Mexico and Mary Ann (Barrie) Ricketts of Wheaton, Illinois; four grandchildren, Deborah L. (Brandon) Noonan of Bettendorf, Iowa, Steven R. Hassi of Albuquerque, New Mexico, Jennifer L. and Paul A. Ricketts, both of Wheaton, Illinois; and several nieces and nephews.

Along with his parents, Mr. Schlorch was preceded in death by a daughter, Nancy Lee and a brother Stanley Schlorch.

Mr. Schlorch was a graduate of South Bend Central High School. class of 1937 and a graduate of Indiana State University, class of 1941. He worked in marketing for the Burroghs/Unisys Corporation for 32 years, until his retirement in 1980. Mr. Schlorch served his country during W.W.II, in the United States Army.

He was a member of St Joseph Catholic Church, South Bend, the BPO Elks *235, a tour guide at the Basilica of the Sacred Heart, Notre Dame, and a volunteer at St Joseph's Regional Medical Center, where beginning in 1980. he was the first male volunteer to work the floors at the hospital

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p m Monday, May 20, 2002, in Kaniewski Funeral Home. 3545 N Bendy Drive, South Bend. where a Rosary will be recited at 430 p m A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 10 a.m . Tuesday. May 21. 2002. in St Joseph Catholic Church. South Bend, with burial to follow in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park.
