Maxine L. (Parish) Paxson

June 19, 1919 – Aug.11, 2012

SOUTH BEND — Maxine L. (Parish) Paxson, age 93, of South Bend, passed away on August 11, 2012. She was born on June 19, 1919, in South Bend to Eleanor (Probant) Parish and V.M. ( Doc) Parish.

On July 19, 1945, she married Victor E. Paxson, Jr., who preceded her in death on February 28, 1970.

She was with the Stanley Clark School and then worked for many years as office manager at the Masonic Temple in South Bend.

She is survived by her children, Victor E. Paxson, III of Mishawaka and Cynthia L. Bingaman of South Bend; and also by her grandchildren, Wendy (Robert) Dorsch of Mishawaka, Reed (Jennifer) Bingaman of Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan, Ehren (Melinda) Bingaman of Brownsburg, Indiana, and William Paxson of Ohio. In addition, she is survived by seven beautiful great-grandchildren, Coral and Cade Dorsch, Nathaniel and Sarah Bingaman, and Darian, Amelia and Reese Bingaman.

Her family was the joy of her life. Maxine was a life member of St. Peter’s United Church of Christ and served as Elder, Deacon and Secretary of the Church Council as well as president of the Women’s Fellowship, and was a member of the “Over 60’s” group. She taught Sunday School for many years.

The memorial service will be Sunday, August 19, 2012, at 3:30 p.m., at St. Peter’s UCC, 915 N. Ironwood Dr., South Bend, IN 46615. Pastor K. Scott Bowie will officiate. The family will greet friends an hour before the service, and at a dinner following the service in the church fellowship hall. Palmer Funeral Home-River Park, South Bend is in charge of arrangements.

Memorial contributions may be made to St. Peter’s UCC.
