James Henry Mitchell
BENTON HARBOR - Word has been received of the death of James Henry Mitchell, 64, of Palm Springs, Calif., formerly of Benton Harbor, who died Nov. 10, 1983, in Palm Springs. His body was to be cremated. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cancer Society.
He was born on Sept. 11, 1919, in South Bend. Surviving are his wife, Jeanette; a daughter, Wanda Marinacci of Benld, Ill.; a grandson; his mother, Catherine Mitchell of Stevensville; and a sister, Mary C. Kish of Stevensville.
He was an Army veteran of World War II, receiving the Bronze Star. He was station manager of WNIL, Niles, manager of WHFB-FM, Benton Harbor, active in Junior Achievement and the Berrien County Youth Fair, 1962 President of Niles Lions Club, and district chairman of Southwestern Michigan, Inc., Boy Scouts of America
