Margaret M. (Dick) Hunt

Margaret M. Hunt, age 87, of Mishawaka, passed away Thursday evening, May 25, 2006 in St.Joseph Regional Medical Center, Mishawaka. Margaret was born December 16, 1918, in Milton, Ontario, Canada, a daughter of the late Alexander and Mary (Ritchie) Dick.As a child, she moved with her family to South Bend, where she graduated from Central High School in 1937.
On August 31, 1940, she married Paulmer D. Hunt and the couple made South Bend their home for several years before settling in Mishawaka.
Margaret was a homemaker who enjoyed sewing, cross- stitch and needlework.She loved watching movies, eating South Bend Chocolate Company chocolate, reading and, at one time, enjoyed flower gardening.Margaret and Paulmer spent many summer vacations at Douglas Lake in northern Michigan.
Margaret’s surviving family includes her son-in-law, Fred (Marion) Goffeney of Niles; two grandsons, Ben (Heather) Sherman and Sam Sherman; and two great-grandchildren, Ashley Nicole and Aaron Paulmer Sherman.
Margaret was preceded in death by her beloved husband in 2003, after 63 years of marriage;two daughters, Mary Hunt in 1992 and Margaret “Peggy” Goffeney in 1996; a sister, Effie Dick;and three brothers, William, Alexander and Arthur Dick.
Private family services will be held in Riverview Cemetery, South Bend. Contributions in Margaret’s memory may be given to The Center for Hospice & Palliative Care. The Hunt family is being served by Thallemer, Goethals & Wells Funeral Home, 503 West Third Street, Mishawaka
