Robert E. Rumpf, 59, of 10874 E. Jefferson Rd., Osceola,  a rector of the New Apostolic Church of Osceola died at 2:45 p.m. Monday in Memorial Hospital, South Bend, after an illness of 1 1/2 years. He was born July 22, 1910 in Waterloo, Ind., and came to Osceola 10 years ago from South Bend.

He married Miriam M. Goebel, who survives, on Dec. 30, 1939 in South Bend. Also surviving are four sons, Robert Rumpf of South Bend and David Allen, John A.; and Charles K. Rumpf of Osceola; two daughters, Carol and Barbara Rumpf of Fort Lauderdale, Fla., and a brother, Jeff Rumpf of Redwood, CA.

Friends may call after 4pm today and until 11 a.m. Thursday in the Warner Funeral Home Osceola. Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in New Apostolic Church. Rev. John Heidema, pastor, will officiate and burial will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend. Mr. Rumpf was employed as a bus driver for the Penn-Harris-Madison School Corp and also operated a television repair service.
