Helene I. Chlebowskl

SOUTH BEND — Helene I. Chlebowskl, 88, formerly of Kinyon Street, South Bend, Ind., died on Friday, March 27, In Regency Place Health Care and Rehabilitation. Ms. Chlebowski was born on April 21, 1909, in South Bend, and was a lifelong resident. She retired in 1972 after 33 years of service from Elbel Brothers Music Store.

She is survived by a brother, Chester J. Chandler of South Bend; Iwo nieces, Mary (Bruce) Woodcox of Mishawaka and Kathleen (Dennis) Bunnell of Harvard, Mass.; four nephews, Henry (Mary Ann) Chandler of Granger, Ind., Dennis (Cindy) Chandler of Osceola, Ind., Paul (Carolyn) Chandler of Avon Lake, Ohio, and Kevin Nevils of Long Island, N.Y.

Helene was preceded in death by her sister, Eleonore A. Nevils in 1958; and by a brother, Henry R. Chlebowski in 1931. Ms. Chlebowski was a member of St. Hedwig Catholic Church, the Polish Roman Catholic Union, and graduated from the former South Bend Central High School in 1928.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Tuesday, March 31, in SI. Hedwig Catholic Church, with Rev. Leonard F. Chrobot officiating. Burial will fol-low in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, March 30, in the Kaniewskl Funeral Home. 3545 N. Bendix Drive, where a parish Rosary will be recited at 6 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Hedwig Catholic Church.
