Matthew J. "Motz" Lentsch

Matthew J. "Motz" Lentsch, 78, of 750 W. Indiana Ave., died at 11:45 a.m. Wednesday in Michiana Community Hospital. Mr. Lentsch was a retired co-owner of Lentsch's Bakery. He was born March 29, 1910, in South Bend and was a lifelong area resident. He is survived by two sisters, Magdalyn Olczak and Christine Kaczmarek, both of South Bend; and a brother, Martin of South Bend.

Services will be at 9 a.m. Saturday in Our Lady of Hungary Catholic Church. Burial will be in High-land Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. today in Zahoran Funeral Home, where a rosary will be recited at 7:15 p.m. by members of the Legion of Mary.

Mr. Lentsch attended the University of Notre Dame and St. Edward's University, Austin, Texas. He was al veteran of World. War II and a member of the Americate\Baking Institute, American Legion Post 50, St. Stephen's Society of St. Mary of the Assumption Catholic Church and DFV German Club.

He was captain of the varsity football team at the former South Bend Central High School in 1929.
