George R. Hummer

George R. Hummer, 89, of Jackson Road, South Bend, Ind., - passed away after an extended illness at 12:30 p.m. Monday. Jan. 7th. in the Ironwood Health and Rehabilitation Center. Mr. Hummer was born on Oct. 18, 1912, in St. Joseph County, and lived in the Michiana area his lifetime.

On April 12, 1941, in South Bend, he married the former Jeanette L. Ulbricht, who survives. He is also survived by two sons. James A. (Debbie) Hummer of Miamisburg. Ohio, and John W. (Kathryn) Hummer of Mishawaka. Ind.; and by six grandchildren whom he loved and cherished. Mr. Hummer retired from the Department of Natural Resources with the State of Indiana after many years of service. 

Visitation hours will be from 4 to 8 p.m. today. Jan. 9th. in the Hanley & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home, located at West Ireland Road/Indiana 23. South Bend. Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Jan 10th. in the funeral home. with Pastor Roberta Ingles of Faith United Methodist Church officiating. Burial will follow at Sumption Prairie Cemetery. The family request that all memorial contributions be made to Fat United Methodist Church or to the Alzheimer's Association.

Mr Hummer was a member of the church and also Lakeville Masonic Lodge & Scottish Rite The HANLEY & Sons "Southwest Chapel" Funeral Home handled arrangements and services and extend deepest sympathy and heartfelt prayers to the Hummer family.
