SOUTH BEND – Rose Tarr, 95, passed away at 5:45 a.m.Wednesday, January 28, 2009 in the Good Shepherd unit of the Sanctuary at St. Paul’s. Rose was born on February 4, 1913, in South Bend to Steve and Rose (Horvath) Cifra. She retired in 1976 from Torrington, was a member of its retirees, St.Anthony de Padua Catholic Church and the Legion of Mary.Rose was a wonderful cook who loved to garden, do needlepoint and crochet, and had a great sense of humor.

On October 1, 1932 in Our Lady of Hungary Church she married William S.Tarr.He died on December 3, 2003. She was also preceded in death by a sister Elizabeth “Betty”Hoffer.

Surviving are a daughter Lee Hoover of Edwardsburg, MI;three grandchildren Randy Hoover of Honolulu, HI, Tracy Scott of La Mesa, CA and Roxie Hoover of Osceola;seven great- grandchildren Natasha, Sunshine, Candace, Cherisse, Jamie, Nathan, and Breanna.

Memorial services will be conducted at 11 am Monday February 2, in Our Lady of the Lake Catholic Church, Edwardsburg. Cremation has taken place.Family and friends may call one half hour prior to services in the church. Zahoran Funeral Home, 1826 Kemble Avenue is handling the arrangements. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Our Lady of the Lake Church or to the Good Shepherd unit of the Sanctuary at St.Paul’s.
