Madge (Grant) Reeder

SOUTH BEND - Madge Reeder, 94, of E. Pokagon Street, died at 7 p.m. Thursday in her home. Mrs. Reeder was a former reporter for the South Bend Tribune in the 1920s. She was born Dec. 2, 1896, in Defiance, Ohio, and lived in South Bend most of her life.

In 1921, in South Bend, as Madge Grant, she married Earl E. Reeder. He died in 1951. She is survived by a granddaughter, Mary Violette of South Bend; and a grandson, Benjamin Violette of South Bend.

Memorial services will be at a later date. Cremation has taken place at Michiana Crematory, with burial at Fairview Cemetery, Mishawaka. There will be no visitation. Welsheimer Funeral Home handled arrangements. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of St. Joseph County or Alzheimer's Association..
