Nellie F. (Waldo) Colbert

Nellie F. "Helen" Colbert, 77, of 501 S. Scott St., died at 4:35 p.m. Thursday in Memorial Hospital. She was a retired secretarial employee of the University of Notre Dame.

Mrs. Colbert was born April 14, 1909, in Lakeview, Mich. On March 30, 1935, in South Bend, she married Ralph A. Colbert. He died Jan. 4, 1977. Surviving are two daughters, Karen K. Colbert of Fort Wayne and Shirley A. Papay of Mishawaka; a son, Jay R. of South Bend; a stepdaughter, Doris Rodgers of Tampa, Fla.; a stepson, Ralph W. of Tampa; 14 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and a brother, Richard J. Waldo of Fraser, Mich.

Services will be at 11 a.m. Monday in Guisinger Colonial Chapel Funeral Home. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger. Friends may call from 2 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday and from 10 a.m. until services Monday in the funeral home. Mrs. Colbert was a volunteer worker with REAL Ser-vices and at Century Center after her retirement.
