Lillian (Perkins) LaMunion

SOUTH BEND - Lillian LaMunion , 86, Ironwood Health & Rehabilitation Center, formerly of Prairie Avenue, died at 6:10 p.m. Tuesday in the nursing home. Mrs. LaMunion retired 1965 from the South Bend Community School Corp. as a teacher after 40 years of service and retired in 1973 as a teacher in Palm Beach, Fla. She was born March 28, 1907, in South Bend, and lived in South Bend most of her life.

On Feb. 28, 1931, in South Bend, as Lillian Perkins, she married James J. LaMunion . He died July 20, 1982. She is survived by a daughter, Sharon Jenkins of South Bend; three grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and a brother, Willis Perkins of Texas. She was a member of Indiana Retired Teachers Association.

Services will be at 3 p.m. Friday in Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 1201 S. Michigan St. Burial will be in Southlawn Cemetery. Friends may call from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to American Cancer Society or Logan Industries.
