Maxine L. (Schott) Vollmer

May 27, 1918 - Sept. 21, 2011

MISHAWAKA - Maxine L. Vollmer, 92, of River Park, passed away peacefully, with her family by her side, on September 21, 2011. She was born to the late Alice Marie (Larsen) Schott and Clarence Schott on May 27, 1918 in River Park.

She married Charles Vollmer on August 5, 1939. He preceded her in death.

Left to cherish her memory are two daughters, Sandra J. (Jerry) Keller of CA and Jane (Pat) Pollex of Mishawaka; three grandchildren, Joan (Dave) Patterson of CA, Kristi (Greg) Noble of Elkhart and Brian Keller of South Bend; two step-grandchildren, Dr. Emily (Eric) Stout and Angela Noble; two great-grandchildren, Christopher Patterson of CA and Nathan Grant of Osceola; great-great grand daughter, Summer Patterson; two sisters-in-law, Del Rodts of FL and Harriet Vollmer of New Carlisle; brother-in-law, Ralph (Barbara) Vollmer of South Bend; special cousins, Joyce (Ted) Bernard, Don (Corrine) Larsen, Debra ( Mike ) Lanko, Jane (Williamson) Pollex, and Les Williamson; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She will be greatly missed by her family. Maxine was a wonderful daughter, wife, mother and grandmother. She had a special relationship with both her daughters and granddaughters. No one will ever replace her in our hearts. She worked at Security Loan Co. for eleven years, and the vocational rehabilitation division for seventeen years, and was a long time member of Our Redeemer Lutheran Church.

The family would like to thank the staff at Golden Living Center in Mishawaka for the kind and loving care they showed to Maxine during her stay with them. Each and every one of them has shown the utmost professionalism and love to our Mother and Grandmother. We thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Cremation will take place, and a private service will be held later. Donations may be made to Our Redeemer Lutheran Church, or to the donor's choice.
