Lilla J. (Southard) Elbel
1917 - 1997
Lilla Elbel passed away on Dec. 7, at the age of 80 She was born in Enid. Okla.. and moved to South Bend in 1931 She graduated from Wells College in Aurora, N Y.. in 1940. Mrs. Elbel's interest in literature, art, and music were lifetime enthusiasms. She was a longtime member of the Woman's Literary Club and the Antiquarian Society
She married Frederick C Elbel in 1947 He survives her. She is also survived by her son, Fred L. Elbel, and his two daughters. Melissa Sue Bridges with her husband, William, and their daughter, Cassandra, and Lora Elbel. Mrs. Elbel's daughter. Christine Elbel Auld, survives her with her husband, David, and their daughter, Caitlin. Lille had two sisters. Barbara Southard Madden and Harriet Southard Kelly. who preceded her in death.
There will be no visitation. Burial in Riverview Cemetery will be private. Arrangements are being handled by the Welsheimer Funeral Home.
