Edward E. Hupp

Edward E. Hupp, 68, of Fort Myers, Fla., formerly of South Bend, died at 3:35 p.m. Saturday In Fort Myers Community Hospital. In 1966, Mr. Hupp transferred from the Bendix Corp., automotive division, in South Bend, where he was chief engineer. He was president of the Bendix Air Brake Division in Elyria, Ohio, when he retired in 1973 after 37 years employment with Bendix. He was credited with 22 patents during his career. Mr. Hupp was born Dec. 5, 1917, in South Bend, and lived here until his transfer to Elyria in 1966.

On Oct. 4, 1941, In South Bend, he married Mary F. Bevan, who survives. Also surviving are three daughters, Marcia Hupp of Lakewood, Ohio, Christa Hupp of Elyna and Julia Swiegard of Winter Park, Fla.; two grandchildren; and a sister. Edna Hendricks of South Bend.

Services will be at 4 p.m. Tuesday in Kaiser Funeral Home, Fort Myers. Cremation is planned. Mr. Hupp was a member of the South Bend Country Club, the Masonic Lodge of South Bend and the South Bend Elks. Me-morial contributions may be made to Myerlee Country Club Memorial Fund, 1380 Myerlee Country Club Blvd., Fort Myers, 33907.
