Joan J. Names, age 97, of Woodridge. Beloved wife of the late Norbert. Loving mother of Colette (Robert) McPhail, Connie (John) Ivan and Carol (late Emmett) Glynn. Devoted grandmother of Nicole (Anthony) Becker, Joe (Alex) Glynn, Lauren (Connor) Riley, Kristin (Joe) Laskey, Taylor (Jack) Sutherland and Justin McPhail. Adoring great-grandmother of Adelie, Cillian and Magnus. Dear sister of Marcy (late John) Dippel, the late Rose (late Jack) Enyeart, the late Josephine Hauger, the late Henrietta Hancock and the late Phillip Marcinkowski.
Fond aunt to many. Joan was born April 9, 1926 in South Bend, IN and passed away December 1, 2023 in Downers Grove, IL. She was a graduate of St. Stanislaus Grade School, Central High School, and also attended The Art Institute of Chicago where she studied fashion and dress design. She is preceded in death, oldest daughter of Jennie and Harry. Resided in Berkeley, IL, then Lakeland, FL and Woodridge, IL. Member of NARF and Woodridge Seniors.
Visitation 3-9 p.m. Friday at Hallowell & James Funeral Home, 301 75th St., Downers Grove, IL where funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday. Interment private. In lieu of flowers, memorials to Spectrios Institute for Low Vision in Wheaton, IL or American Heart Assoc. would be appreciated. Funeral info 630-964-6500
