Esther (Zoss) Levy
Esther Levy, 70, of 1605 Riverside Drive, died about 8:45 p.m. Monday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Levy was born Sept. 19, 1915, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident. On Feb. 8, 1935, in South Bend, as Esther Zoss, she married Jake Levy. He died Sept. 4, 1971.
She is survived by two daughters, Judith L. Ruff of Asheville, N.C., and Carol B. Levy of Boston; two sons, Joseph E. of Granger and Bruce G. of Boca Raton, Fla.; seven grandchildren; a great-grandchild; a sister, Rose Linn of Michigan City; and two brothers, Barney and Abe Zoss, both of South Bend.
Services will be at noon Wednesday at Forest G. Hay Funeral Home, 435 S. Ironwood Drive. Burial will be in Hebrew Orthodox Cemetery. There will be no visitation. She was a member of Sinai Synagogue, Sinai Sisterhood, Ha-dassah, and B'nai B'rith. Memorial contributions may be made to any charity.
