Alberta G. (Pluehoff) Rookstool

SOUTH BEND - Alberta G. Rookstool, 96, residing in South Bend, IN, passed away at 1:45 AM Tuesday, February 8, 2011, in Hospice House, South Bend. Alberta was born March 18, 1914, in South Bend, to Henry and Alice (Brown) Pluehoff, and had remained a lifelong resident of the area.

On May 15, 1937, in South Bend, Alberta married Gerald H. Rookstool, who preceded her in death on January 4, 1996. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Ollie Rosenthal, who died May 28, 2007.

Mrs. Rookstool was a longtime member of Community Baptist Church. Alberta is survived by her daughter, Carol Hillman of South Bend, and her granddaughter, Laura Hillman of Hempstead, TX.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 AM today, February 10, 2011, in the chapel at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, with Rev. Steve Stadtmiller officiating. There will be no visitation. Palmer Funeral Home River Park Chapel, is assisting the Rookstool family with arrangements.
