Paul L. Koechel
KOECHEL - Services for Paul L. Koechel, 59, of Philadelphia, Pa., formerly of South Bend, who died Thursday afternoon, Jan 9, 1975, in Philadelphia after suffering a heart attack, will be at 3 p.m. Monday in the Foglesong Funeral Home, Sturgis, Mich. Rev. Ernest Ewald, retired Lutheran minister will officiate. Burial will be in Oak Lawn Cemetery. Sturgis. Friends may call after noon today in the funeral home. Koechel was a lay minister and employe of the Board of American Missions of the Lutheran Church of America.
He was born Dec. 19, 1916, in Michigan. Surviving are a brother, John V. of Sturgis; three sisters, Mrs. E.L. Nering of Sturgis, Mrs. Frank Vallier of Quiney, Mass., and Mrs. Herbert Becker of Las Vegas, Nev.. and several nieces and nephews.
Koechel was a World War II Air Force veteran spending 18 years in the service. He was a member of the Bethany Lutheran Church; the VFW. Chicago, and the American Legion, Chicago.
