Herbert Waldo E. Hoppe Jr., 37, of 726 Elmer St., died at 6:10 Sunday in Memorial Hospital after an illness of seven years.
He was born on Dec 6, 1924, in Chicago and had lived in South Bend for 31 years. was married on May 10, 1947, Berniece May Wermuth. Survivling besides his widow are daughter, Deborah Ann, at home, and his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Hoppe Sr., South Bend.
He had been an employee of Bendix Products Co. He was veteran of World War II, a member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 8748, and a member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church.
