J Thomas Timmons Jr - Class Of 1943 VIEW PROFILE

J Thomas Timmons Jr

Joseph Thomas Timmons

Joseph was astoundingly unique. Anyone having spent even five minutes having a conversation with Joseph Thomas "Tom" Timmons and you knew. Tom died Saturday morning, 14 February 2015, of heart failure.

Tom married Elizabeth Jeanne Longenecker on 2 October 1948. It is mixed emotion that we mourn his absence from our lives having been undoubtedly reunited on Valentines’ Day with his Love, Betty. Together they raised 4 blessed children, Kim (Diane) Timmons, Kevin (Erin) Timmons, Susan Ross, and Melissa (Ken) Bybee.

Tom worked for Evart Productions Company (AMC/Chrysler) for 27 years after having had his start with Studebaker Corp. in 1956. He was a daring writer and loyal defender of his fellow citizens and especially military men; having served in the Army (France), during World War II. His letters to the editor were often published in The Morning Sun Newspaper. Ever independent and full of passion, Tommy’s original voice and vibrant hugs will be missed. He could be blatantly honest and quick to apologize, yet Tommy was easily moved to empathetic tears over those he loved and cared for.

Golfing, reading, sun-soaking, and celebrating-the-moment should bring a smile to all who knew Tom- a forever reminder he’s always with us. RIP.
