Kenneth F. Taube, 65, of 6171 Alliene Road, Hamlin Township, died at 8:45 a.m. Wednesday at Battle Creek Veterans Hospital following a lengthy illness. He had been a patient there since April . Kenneth Taube was born March 7. 1912 in South Bend, Ind.

He married the former Elizabeth Fretz June 26, 1937 in South Bend. The couple lived in Niles for 38 years before moving to Ludington in 1974. He had been coming to Ludington as a visitor for many years. He was a member of the Ludington Church of Christ, a graduate of Central High School, South Bend, Ind.; a member of the South Bend Lodge 294, Free and Accepted Masons, South Bend Royal Arch Masons, the Low 12 Club, past president and 30-year member of the South Bend Lions Club and a member of the Ludington Lions Club, the Avalon Grotto of South Bend, past member of the South Bend Independent Order of Odd Fellows and a member of the Gold Bar Post No. 5096 VFW of Custer.

He was a veteran of World War II serving overseas in England and Germany with the U.S. Army. He was president of the Taube Printing Corporation of South Bend which was founded in 1929 by his father. He owned the business from 1946 until it was sold after his retirement in 1971.

Surviving are his wife, one son, Thomas O'Shaughnessy Taube of Niles; one daughter, Mrs. Edward (Diana) Bronson of Kelseyville, Calif.; three grandchildren, his mother, Mrs. Frederick (Nora) Taube of Baywood Nursing Home and several cousins. He was preceded in death by his father, Frederick, and a sister, Catherine. 

The funeral for Mr. Taube will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Ludington Church of Christ with Norris Shelton officiating. The body will be taken to the church at noon Saturday to repose until time of service Interment service for Mr. Taube will be held at 1 p.m. Monday at the Highland Cemetery in South Bend, Ind. under the auspices of Lodge 294, F. and A.M. Entombment will follow the service. The family will receive friends at the Alexander-Rye Funeral Home, Ludington from 7 to 9 p.m. tonight and from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. Friday.
