Margaret M. (Poczik) Gerencher Oct. 6. 1913-July 15, 1992 SOUTH BEND — Margaret M. Gerencher, 78, of 20048 W. Brick Road, died at 6:15 a.m. today in St. Joseph's Medical Center. Mrs. Gerencher retired from Uniroyal Plastics Co., Mishawaka, after 20 years of service. Previously, she was employed by the former Studebaker Corp. for seven years. She was born Oct 6, 1913, in South Bend, and was a lifelong area resident.
On June 1, 1935, in South Bend, as Margaret M. Poczik, she married Alex Gerencher. He survives with two sons, Ronald A. and Thomas A., both of South Bend; a grandson; and a sister, Irene Johnson of Rochester, Minn.
She was a member of Christ the King Catholic Church and Ladies of Charity. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Christ the King Catholic Church.
Burial will be in Highland Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 5 and 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday in Kaniewski & Sons Funeral Home, where a wake will be at 7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Gerencher Memorial Grant, in care of St. Joseph's High School, 1441 N. Michigan St., South Bend, IN 46617.
