Genevieve E. (Nolan) Welch

SOUTH BEND — Genevieve E. Welch, 78, of 2205 Sampson Ave., died at 4 p.m. Saturday in St. Joseph's Medical Center. She was a principal at the former Meadowbrook School, Clay Township, and had taught at Ullrey and Swanson schools and Healthwin Hospital. She was born Dec. 18, 1912, in South Bend.

On July 2. 1937, in South Bend, she married Gillson Welch. He died April 25, 1979. Surviving are a cousin, with whom she made her home, three aunts and two uncles.

She was a member of Kirk of Dunedin (Fla.) Church and a retired teachers association.

Services will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday in Welsheimer Funeral Home North. 17033 Cleveland Road. Burial will be in St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park. Granger. Friends may call one hour before services Tuesday in the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Healthwin Hospital.
