SOUTH BEND — Thomas "Gene" Longley, 88, of Florence, Ky., formerly of South Bend, died Saturday in St. Elizabeth North Hospice, Covington, Ky. Survivors include his wife, Elsie; a daughter, Phyllis Lynch of Union, Ky.; a son, Jack C. of San Jose, Calif.: and a brother, Roger of South Bend.

Memorial services will be at 3 p.m. Thursday in Union Presbyterian Church, Union, where friends may call after services. Linnemann Funeral Home, Burlington, Ky., is handling arrangements.
