Frances J. (Labadie) Billings

Frances J. Casey Billings, 85, of Healthwin Specialized Care Center, formerly of Navarre Street, South Bend, Ind., died at 12:05 p.m. on Wednesday Nov. 17, in Healthwin following an illness. Mrs. Billings was born on Jan. 4, 1914, in South Bend, to Charles H. and Anna (Prestige) Labadie, and was a lifelong area resident.

On Dec. 27, 1951, in South Bend, as Frances J. Casey, she married Edward J. Billings, who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; a son, Robert Casey; three sisters, M. Marguerite McIntyre, Jennie G. (Jennings) Lovelace, and Florence Fidler; and by a brother, Wallace P. Labadie. 

She is survived by three nieces, Rachel Livingston of Mountain Home, Ark., Jean Fess of Kalamazoo, Mich., and Jane Lusk of Hohenwald, Tenn.; six nephews, Jerry Jennings of Ypsilanti, Mich., Samuel Jennings of Stanwood, Mich., Tighe Fidler and Clifford L. Fidler, Jr., both of South Bend, James Labadie of South Pasadena, Calif., and Olney "Bud" McIntyre of Granger, Ind.; and by a daughter-in-law, Paula Casey of Clearwater, Fla.

Mrs. Billings. owned and operated Casey's Furniture Mart in South Bend for many years.

Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, Nov. 23, in the Welsheimer Funeral Home, 521 N. William St., with Rev. Mary Hubbard of the Central United Methodist Church officiating. Cremation will take place at Michiana Crematory with burial to follow at Riverview Cemetery. There will be no visitation.
