Martha Jane Fields

SOUTH BEND — Martha Jane Fields, 84, a lifetime South Bend, Ind., resident, died on Thursday morning, May 28, at Hospice House. She was born on Dec. 26, 1913, the daughter of Anna and John B. Fields. 

Miss Fields was a graduate of Shimer College, Mount Carroll, Ill.; the University of Chicago; and Western Reserve University, Cleveland. She was active in many civic, historical and theatrical organizations. She was a member of the First Church of Christ Scientist, Boston. She is survived by numerous cousins.

At her request, no services will be held and her ashes will be buried in Riverview Cemetery. Memorials may be made to the South Bend Civic Theater or to Hospice of St. Joseph County.
