Mildred L. (Claunch) Schrader

June 20, 1912 - June 20, 2005 

Mildred L. Schrader, 93, of Anderson Road, Niles. Michigan, passed away in her residence on her 93rd birthday. She was born on June 20, 1912, in South Bend, Ind., to the late Henrietta (Meisel) and Frederick Claunch, who preceded her in death. On November 1, 1935, in South Bend, as Mildred Claunch, she married Edward R. Schrader, who preceded her in death on March 24, 1984. Mrs. Schrader was also preceded in death by a sister, Bernice Mow, and by a brother, Kenneth Claunch.

Mrs. Schrader is survived by a daughter, Janet (Henry) Rakowski of Niles; two sons, Edward (Kathleen) Schrader of South Bend and Donald (LaVerna) Schrader of Wyoming, Mich.; two step-daughters, Madllyn (Marlon) Dozy of New York and Jean (Erwin) Kolesiak of South Bend; 12 grandchildren, 20 great-grandchildren and three great-great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. 

Mrs. Schrader was a retired manager of several local music stores. She was a member of Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, South Bend, and was a volunteer at Memorial Hospital, something she was very proud of. She was a loving and caring mother, grandmother, great-grand-mother, great-great-grand-mother, sister, aunt and friend and will be sadly missed.

Services for Mrs. Schrader will be at 10 a.m. (Indiana lime) today, June 23, in Epworth Memorial United Methodist Church, 2404 Lincoln Way West, South Bend. Rev. Tom Thews will conduct the services. Visitation was held from 4 to 8 p.m. Wednesday in the Weisheimer Family Funeral Home North, 17033 Cleveland Road, South Bend. Cremation will take place following the services in the Michiana Crematory, South Bend, with burial taking place at a later date at St. Joseph Valley Memorial Park, Granger, Indiana. The family has requested that memorial contributions be made to Hospice at Home. 2626 W. John Beers Road, Stevensville, MI 49127
