A. Donnabelle Silvers

A. Donnabelle Silvers, 81, residing on West Cleveland Road, South Bend, Ind., passed away at 3:50 p.m. on Friday, Aug. 14, in her home. Mrs. Silvers was born on Dec. 31, 1916, in South Bend, to the late Perry and Maude (Moyer) Korn, and had remained a lifelong resident of this community.

On Aug. 4, 1940, in South Bend, she married Lee W. Silvers. Together, they enjoyed 53 wonderful years. She and her husband owned and operated the Silvers Variety Store in Ardmore for many years. Mr. Silvers passed away on May 26, 1993.

She is survived by two daughters and their husbands, Shirley and Jay Kline of South Bend, and Sharlene and Ronald Stidham of Cincinnati, Ohio; three grandchildren, Rob Kline of Mishawaka, Ind., Cassandra Lewis of South Bend and Tina Stidham of Cincinnati; and by two greatgrandchildren, Jessica Lewis and Emilee Kline. Silvers was a longtime member of the Christ Temple Apostolic Church in South Bend.

Services for Mrs. Silvers will be at 11- a.m. on Tuesday in her church, 2307 Elwood Avenue, South Bend. Rev. Martyn Ballestero, pastor, will officiate. Burial will follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery. Friends may visit the family from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. on Monday in the Palmer Funeral Home, 2528 Mishawaka Avenue, South Bend, and one hour prior to services on Tuesday at the church. Contributions in memory of Mrs. Silvers may be offered to Hospice of St Joseph County.
