Frank Joseph Dubicki

Frank was born to Alexander and Stefania (Stella) Spiridowicz Dubicki. His parents were Polish immigrants who became naturalized citizens in 1927. Frank was the oldest of six children. Frank married Virginia Smigielski on June 28, 1941, in South Bend, Ind. Virginia passed away in 1991.

Frank is survived by his sister, Bernice Frick of South Bend, Ind.; his brother, Stanley (and Esther) of Orange Park, Fla.; his son, David (and Betsy) of Peoria and their children, Martha and John; and his son, Paul (and Marsha) of Deltaville, Va., and their children Lisa, Paul, Brian and Mary.

Frank devoted his entire career to the wholesale pie baking business. He began his career in the mid-1930s at the Blue Ribbon Pie Company of South Bend (where he met his wife Virginia) and also worked for the Fasano Pie Company of Chicago and other commercial bakeries in Indiana and Illinois. In 1950, he and Virginia moved to Peoria, where they established Kitchen Made Pie Company on State Street. Frank later relocated his bakery to 2400 S.W. Adams and continued to run his company until his retirement in 1981.

Frank and Virginia were among the original families of Morton's Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church. Frank was an avid golfer and a member of the Pine Lakes Golf Club and Pekin Country Club. Frank was also a member of the Knights of Columbus in Morton.

Entombment will be in Resurrection Mausoleum, Peoria. Knapp-Johnson Funeral Home in Morton. Illinois is in charge of arrangements.
