Lucille Irene (Kinyon) Bowers

ENGLEWOOD, FL - Lucille Irene (Kinyon) Bowers, 101, died October 4, 2014, at her home under the care of her loving granddaughter, Kim Lopez, and Hospice. Lucille was born in South Bend, IN, to Charles F. Kinyon and Ida (Lawrence) Kinyon on March 9, 1913.

On August 24, 1935, Lucille married Donald Bowers in South Bend, who preceded her in death on October 29, 1996. Also preceding Lucille in death were her mother and father; sister, Helen (Andrew) Coryell; brothers and their spouses, Frank L. (Ester) Kinyon, John J. Kinyon and Ralph C. (Marjorie) Kinyon; and daughter-in-law, JoAnn (Bell) Bowers.

Lucille is survived by her sister, Edith (Kinyon) (Niblick) McCann of Sanford, FL; son, Charles Bowers of Angola, IN; daughter, Sharol (Gary) Vohs of Cassopolis, MI; and grandchildren, Kim (Bowers) Lopez, Kirk Bowers, Darren (Donna) Vohs, Douglas Vohs and Dann (Lori) Vohs. Lucille is also survived by ten great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Lucille graduated from South Bend Central High School in 1931, and the Mishawaka Hospital School of Nursing as a Registered Nurse in 1935. She was a longtime member of the Center Township Volunteer Fireman's Women Auxiliary.

Family and friends are invited to a Memorial Service at Grace United Methodist Church, 3012 S. Twyckenham Dr., South Bend, on Wednesday, October 15, at 11:00 A.M
