Kenneth Grant Smous, aged 34, rural route No. 3, box 485, died. suddenly about 2:30 p. m. Sunday while he was visiting in the home of a friend, W. D. Lindsey, of rural route No. 3, box No. 287. Death was attributed to a heart attack. He was taken to the South Bend Osteopathic hospital but was dead on arrival there.

Mr. Smous was born in St. Joseph county Oct. 27, 1913 and lived all his life here.

Surviving are his widow, Phoeby Ann Smous, to whom he was married, in 1936; two sons, Kenneth Frederick, and Gary LaMar, at home; his mother, Mrs. George Van Arsdel, and his stepfather.

He was a member of Epworth Memorial Methodist church of the Woodmen of the World lodge No. 28, and of the South Bend Turners. Mr. Smous was an electrician.

Friends may call in the Hollis funeral home tonight and until the funeral there at 2 p. m. Wednesday. Rev. Eugene Balsley, pastor of Epworth church, will read the rites. Burial will be in Mt. Pleasant cemetery
